BARBERTON---Frances R. Elavsky, 86, passed away August 11, 2011 at Summa Health Systems Akron City Hospital. She was born in Barberton where she was a resident all her life and retired from Babcock & Wilcox Co. after 31 years of service. Frances was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Slovene Pensioners, B&W Women's Club, AARP, Young at Heart, the Holy Hour Program and was a Red Cross volunteer. She also enjoyed traveling and loved being the matriarch of her family and spending time with her friends. Preceded in death by her husband Edward J. Sr.; granddaughter Michelle (Peltier) Theado; parents Joseph and Frances Rogel; sister Emma McCree and brothers Tony and Joseph Rogel; Survivors include son Edward J. "Chip" (Jackie) of Norton; daughter Nancy (Charles) Peltier of Piqua, OH; granddaughter Nicole (Jason) Wheeler of Maple Grove, MN; great-grandson Luke Wheeler and another great-grandson on the way; brother-in-law Frank (Vera) Elavsky and sister-in-laws Marge Rogel, Tommie Elavsky and Helen Sues.Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2011, 10:30 A.M. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Fr. Robert Jackson celebrant. Calling Hours Monday 5 to 8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where prayers will be said Tuesday at 10 A.M. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Michelle (Peltier) Theado Scholarship Fund c/o Piqua Catholic School.
