BARBERTON---Frances Carolyn (Griffiths) Getz "Frankie", 82, passed away suddenly Tuesday, January 4, 2011 after a brief illness. Born in Akron, she lived her entire life in Barberton where she retired from B & C Machine Company. Frances was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the Slovene Center where she worked for a number of years. She loved playing euchre, meeting and serving customers at the Slovene Center; as well as her volunteer work at the Barberton Senior Citizens Center. She will be remembered for her zest for life, taking care of her family when times were hard, her love of flowers, gardening and the Cleveland Indians. She will be missed by many people and friends and especially her family.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband Dennis; parents John and Lucille Griffiths; son David; grandson David and brothers Thomas and Paul Griffiths. She leaves her son and best friend Michael; son Donald (Jeanie); daughters Carolyn (Les) Sipos and Mary Ann (Roger) Rankin; brothers Don (Rose) Griffiths, Jack (Louise) Griffiths and Karl (Sue) Griffiths; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, January 7, 2011, 10 A.M. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Fr. Jim Singler celebrant. There will be no calling hours as cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her honor to the American Diabetes Association or St. Augustine Catholic Church.
