Frank D. Ligas

Norton – Frank Dustin Ligas, 63, passed away on February 16, 2025. Frank was born on May 12, 1961, in Barberton, Ohio, to his parents Peter and Margaret (Genet) Ligas.

Frank loved his family. The thing he enjoyed most in life was spending time with his wife Jeanie and their children and grandchildren. He was passionate about health and fitness, and liked to exercise and run. Frank took great pride in his meticulous work as a drapery installer for hotels. He also enjoyed restoring and maintaining cars. By his example, he instilled a strong work ethic in all of his kids. They also inherited his kindness, compassion, and empathy for others.

In his younger days, Frank enjoyed swimming, Martial Arts, and spending time with his nephews and nieces. There were no strangers to Frank, only friends he had not met. Frank would talk to anyone, anywhere. His humor could catch people off guard since he was rather serious by nature. When he laughed, you couldn’t help but laugh with him.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents Peter Ligas and Margaret Genet; many aunts and uncles; siblings Karen Bechdel, Susan Ligas, Chris Ligas; and daughter Michaila Ligas.

Frank is survived by his wife Jean (Jeanie) Ligas, children Frank (Melissa) Ligas, David (Linda) Ligas, Rebecca Ligas, Jonathan Ligas, Rachel Ligas (fiancé Blake Conte), Anna Ligas, Amanda Ligas (fiancé Trent Jackson) , Megan Ligas, 12 grandchildren, siblings Pete (Marlene) Ligas, Mike (Barb) Ligas, Kathy (Karl) Koppes, Ben (Sherri) Ligas, Beth (David) Douglas, Aunt Patty Ligas and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at Grace Church-Fairlawn Campus, 754 Ghent Rd., Bath, OH 44333. Memorial Service to follow at 6:00 p.m. and a Memorial dinner after that at the church.
