Harold Joe Henke, Jr

WADSWORTH TWP.---Harold "Joe" Henke Jr., 65, passed away October 12, 2015 after a hard fought battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and Leukemia. Joe was born in Barberton and had been a Barberton/Wadsworth resident all his life. He was a graduate of Barberton High School Class of 1969. Joe retired from Metro Regional Transit as a bus driver and more recently from the Wal-Mart in Wadsworth. He was a member of Akron Baptist Temple and a past president of the Columbia Chemical Credit Union. Joe also traveled around the country exhibiting his dogs. He was a storyteller, practical joker and was loved by everyone. Preceded in death by his parents Harold Sr. and Rosa; and sister Linda; He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Marie; brother Gene (Cheryl) Sherrill; sister Carolyn Woodward; niece Jennifer Jacoby; nephew Tim Sherrill; mother-in-law Joyce Kowaleski; and brothers-in-law Mike, Stan and Tony. Calling Hours will be held from 5-8 P.M. on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton.
