Hazel Ann Bossert, age 88, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026. Born on May 24, 1938, in Cranberry, West Virginia, Hazel lived a life filled with devotion to her family, her faith, and her community.
Hazel was a faithful and active member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Barberton, Ohio, where she found great joy in fellowship and service. Her warmth, kindness, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Lewis Bossert, and her step-grandson, Derrick Thomas.
Hazel’s legacy of love lives on through her family. She is survived by her devoted only son, Kevin J. Hamric, and her daughter-in-law, Joanna Hamric. She is also remembered by her ex-daughter-in-law, Louise Hamric.
She was the proud grandmother of grandson Kevin Hamric (Jenell) and granddaughter Kristin Kefalos (Pete); and step-grandchildren Deon Thomas and Derron Heard. She was a cherished great-grandmother to John Kefalos, Zachary Kefalos, and Adam Kefalos; and step-great-grandmother to Gabrielle Thomas, Liel Thomas, and Sophia Heard.
She also loved her part-time caregiver Tina V where they created a special bond of love.
Graveside Services for Hazel will be held on June 30, 2026 at 11:15 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd. Seville, OH. Pastor Erik Swanson officiating. Please meet at the cemetery by 11:00 a.m.
In accordance with Hazel’s wishes, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to her home congregation: First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 249 2nd St NW. Barberton, Ohio 44203.
