BARBERTON--Helen Pauline Yurko, 81 passed away March 30, 2012 at Lorantffy Care Center in Copley.
She was born in Barberton where she was a life resident. She was employed with Coastal Tank Lines in Richfield, OH for 18 years as an Executive secretary, retiring in 1983. She was a 1949 Barberton High School graduate. She was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Church Altar Society and Independent Order of Forresters.
She is preceded in death by husband Steve Jr. in 1998; sister and brother-in-law Catherine & Leonard Stacey; brother John Shemuga; parents Thomas & Pauline Shemuga; mother & father - law Steve Sr. & Katherine Yurko. She is survived by Paula Jean Yurko of Seattle WA; brother Daniel (Stephanie) Shemuga of Cincinnati; sister-in-law Patricia Shemuga of Barberton; nephews Fr. Kevin Shemuga, Kirk, Daniel Jr., Michael, and Sonny Shemuga; nieces Carla & Kelly Stacey, Kimberly Bishop.
Christian Burial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 10:00 A.M. at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 1051 Robinson Avenue, Barberton with Fr. Miron Kerul-Kmec officiating. Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery, Clinton. Liturgy for Helen will be held Monday April 9, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church. Calling hours Tuesday April 3, 2012 from 5-9 P.M. at the Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton and on Wednesday 1 hour prior to service at the church. Parastas services Tuesday at 7:00 P.M..
