Irene E. Gratz

MENTOR---Irene E. Gratz, 93, passed away November 11, 2013 at Heartland of Mentor.


Irene was born in Barberton to Joseph and Terez Zelei and grew up in the Rockcut Rd. area. During WWII she was a Rosie the Riveter. She retired from Fluid Controls in Mentor after 20 years of service. Irene loved the outdoors, gardening, deer watching and was deeply devoted to her roman catholic faith. She was also a strong supporter of many Veteran's organization.


Preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Robert K.; infant daughter Linda; and 8 brothers and sisters; she is survived by her loving son Robert S. and his wife Linda L. Hays.


Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, November 15, 2013 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204-6th St. NW, Barberton. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Friday from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the D.A. V. or Vietnam Veteran's of America.
