John Raymond Hudacko "Ray

John "Ray" Hudacko, 88, passed on July 29, 2026. He retired from Firestone Tire after 38 years of service. He enjoyed his family and friends. He loved anything trains. His hobbies included wine making, home remodeling, tropical fish, leaded glass, bowling, golfing, travel and computers.

He had the rare talent of packing a 1976 Cutlass trunk with four women's "stuff" and dog for a two week vacation to Florida. Colorful language often flew.

He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and an active member of South Akron Knights of Columbus.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Wendy; parents, John and Margaret Hudacko; Sister Genevieve; and brother, Vince.

He is survived by his daughters Jennifer Burkhard and Natalie (Mitch) Gainer; grandchildren Marcie and Alexandra Gainer, Kurtis (Jessica) Rastorfer, Madison (Ken) Chambers, Chad Burkhard; and great-grandchildren KC and Braylee Rastorfer; Braxlee Hatfield; Branson, Harlow, Della and Kai Chambers.

The family wishes to thank the entire Inn at Coal Ridge Staff for taking such great care and making a home for our dear Ray of Sunshine. We would also like to thank Tammy from Hope Health of Ohio for the loving care and guidance on all things wound care.

Ray's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Fr. Robert Jackson, celebrant. The family will receive friends One Hour Prior to the Mass at the church. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Assoc.
