BARBERTON - James G. Wigh (94) was born January 24, 1922. “Other Grandpa and PooPa” fell asleep on October 29, 2016 and joined his beloved wife of nearly 74 years, Frances (Epner) and Granddaughter Shelley McGraw. Jimmy was a WWII Army Veteran from the 10th Armored Division, 21st Tank Battalion. He retired from Pittsburgh Valve (Rockwell) after 39 yrs. of service; was a Past Commander and Lodge Member of the Hungarian Club of Barberton and a member of the Catholic War Veterans. Jimmy loved: Garage Sales (going to them and having them), working on cars, riding motorcycles, golfing, bowling, fishing, hunting, traveling, woodworking and gardening. He also looked forward to attending the Rockwell breakfasts with his former colleagues. He is survived by daughters; Fran (Ron) Mollric, Marilyn (Larry) Kovacs and Carol (deceased son-in-law Zeke) Roberts; grandchildren, Mike (Michelle) McGraw, Kristin (Nick) Schaffner; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Emma and Gracie. He also leaves his brother-in-law Paul (Mary) Epner, Paul (Cindy), Anthony, Lauren, Josh; Mike (Peggy); David (Patty) and Dominic; special friend and nephew Andy (Yvonne) Miklos and numerous other relatives, friends and neighbors. Also dear to him were his five step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren along with old friends from Holy Trinity and new ones from Prince of Peace parish. Special thanks to friends Jerry and Tammy Gonsiewski; Caregiver, Patty Anderson and neighbors, Charles and May Vaughn. Jimmy “wanted to go home” and now he’s home. He will be deeply missed. A Celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held after the services in the social hall at Prince of Peace parish. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Fr. Robert Jackson, celebrant. Interment with Final Military Salute at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 1-4 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to “O.V.M.P.” (Ohio Veterans Memorial Park) in care of Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home.
