Janice L (Sloan) Edwards

BARBERTON---Janice L. Edwards, 76, passed away after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer on March 16, 2016.

Janice was born in Akron and had been an area resident all her life and was a graduate of North High School. Over the years Janice made many long lasting friendships as a waitress in the Akron area and in Kent at Mikes Place.  She came to work with a smile every day.

Preceded in death by her parents Yale and Ruth Sloan; and sister Helen Sullivan; She is survived by her daughter Sherry (Marc) Lepley; son Jeffrey (Becki) Edwards; grandchildren Skyler Edwards and Jacob, Jared and Justin Lepley; brother Robert Sloan; sisters Mary Nelson, Ruth Wimer, Marjorie Buzzi and Carole Smith.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 2-4 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 P.M. Pastor Doug Gregory officiating. Although Janice loved flowers, she asks that you instead give that money to your favorite server as a tribute to her and her years of dedicated work.
