Jeff L. Lilly

August 25, 1956 — February 26, 2026

Canal Fulton

Jeff Lilly was born Aug. 25, 1956, in Barberton, where he was raised. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty Lilly, and his beloved daughter, Megan.

He is survived by his wife, Debi; brothers Bob (Marge) and Tom; children Nicole Brown and Michael (Shannon) Brown; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

A dedicated family man and provider, Jeff’s greatest pride was his family. He was often found outdoors planting trees, bushes and flowers, carefully creating a welcoming space where family and friends could gather, play and relax. He was often found riding his tractor, making sure the yard was just right.

Jeff dedicated more than 40 years of service as an engineer, working for several management properties at the First Energy Akron, Ohio location.

Affectionately known as “Papa” to his family and “Lil” to his friends. He always provided a safe haven for his children and grandchildren when they needed it most, offering love and support unconditionally. Jeff held a special place in the hearts of those who knew him.

He treasured his dogs and cats, finding comfort and companionship in their presence. He loved cooking, watching classic Westerns, eating Barberton chicken and shooting his guns.

Gifted with remarkable skill and patience, Jeff could build nearly anything and fix what was broken. Whether tackling a household repair or lending a helping hand, family and friends could always count on him.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A special thank you to Advantage Hospice of Canton, Ohio, for enabling Jeff to pass peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones, including his cherished dog, Lily.

Cremation has taken place. A private service will be held and Jeff will be laid to rest with his beloved daughter, Megan.

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me

When tomorrow starts without me,

please try to understand. That an angel

came and called my name, and took

me by the hand. The angel said my

place was ready. In Heaven far above.

And that I'd have to leave behind all

those I dearly love. But when I walked

through Heaven's Gates. I felt so much

at home, for god looked down, smiled at me. And told me "Welcome Home."

So when tomorrow starts without me.

Don't think we're far apart. for every

time you think of me. I'm right

there in your heart.
