NEW FRANKLIN---Jerold P. "Jerry" Macko, 67, passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2014.
Jerry was born in Barberton and graduated from Barberton High School and the University of Akron. He worked at P.P.G., General Tire, Goodyear and most recently was employed by Chislers Monuments. He was also retired from the US Army National Guard and was a part time Fire EMT and police officer in New Franklin.
He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Susan. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Cathy (nee Brncik); brothers James T. and John (Karen); brother-in-law Richard (Christine) Brncik; and two nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014 from 5-8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton and Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the service time at the church. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 5451 South Cleveland-Massillon Rd., Norton. Pastor John D. Mashek officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Matthew Church.
