WADSWORTH---Jerry Lee Rupp, 74, passed away February 25, 2012 from complications of pneumonia with family by his side.Jerry was born and raised in Fayette, OH. He attended Fayette City Schools and as a lifelong learner, he later graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor's of Applied Science and Mathematics in 1982. He lived in the Williams County, Ohio area where he raised his family and more recently moved to Wadsworth to be closer to his daughter. Jerry was a Design Engineer and was employed by various companies over 40 years. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Hazel Rupp; birth mother, Hilda Martincak; sister, Peggy Martincak; and former wife, Janet Mattingly. Jerry leaves behind sister, Margaret Taylor of Deadwood, South Dakota; brother, Tom (Lynn) Martincak of Elyria, Ohio; former wife and mother of his children, Carol Cunningham of Kenton, Ohio; children, Stanley P. Rupp of Columbus, Ohio, Christine (Casey) Greener of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Carla (Tom) French of Bryan, Ohio, Debra (Mark) Gentner of Barberton, Ohio and Darla (Phil) Lowe of Kenton, Ohio; ten grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends. The family would like to express special thanks to the staffs at Altercare of Wadsworth and the Palliative Care Unit at Summa Akron City Hospital. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, March 3, 2012, 1 p.m. at Stryker United Brethren Church, 104 E. Short St., Stryker, Ohio, 43557, with Rev. Nick Woodall officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to family for help with funeral expenses.
