BARBERTON---Gerald A. "Jerry" Young, 43, passed away unexpectedly on January 28, 2011. Born in Akron he was an area resident all his life where he graduated from Springfield High School and worked at Glass Ornamental Metals, Inc. Jerry enjoyed his job and his co-workers. He also loved puzzles, helping people and spending time with his kids and their friends. Preceded in death by his father Melvin Sr.; mother-in-law Dorothea Zadra; and brother-in-law Dale Cradlebaugh; Survivors include his loving wife of 22 years, Janet; sons Ryan, Adam and Spencer; mother, Eleanor Young; father-in-law Mario Zadra; sisters Karen (Dewitt) Moss, Donna (Greg) Gemmell and Terry (Dave) Brant; brother Melvin (Dawn) Young Jr.; brother-in-law Dennis (Charlene) Zadra; sister-in-law Mary Beth (Mark) Rittenhour; brother-in-law Alan Zadra; and nieces and nephews, Dewitt "D.J." Jamie, Gregory "Beanor", Jennifer, Sara, Katie, Lee, Dan,, Megan, Andy, Kevin, Jacob, Joshua and Madison. Calling Hours will be held Monday, January 31, 2011 from 4-7 PM at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, with the Funeral Service at 7 PM. Rev. Fleary Spurlock officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
