Jimmie L. Mackey

September 2, 1928 — September 20, 2018

Barberton

BARBERTON---Jimmie L Mackey  90   September 2, 1928 - September 20, 2018 was born at Barberton Citizens hospital and was a lifelong resident of Barberton. As a successful businessman, he was honest, highly respected and well thought of. As a son, brother-in-law, uncle, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he was beloved and will be greatly missed by those of us remaining.

He loved God and family above all else, especially his wife of 65 years, Edith Gray (McCune) who predeceased him. He loved life but is joyful to be joining her. Anyone who knew him will always remember his integrity, his kindness, his quick wit and hearty laugh.

He worked hard, never retiring even starting a new business, Associated Screen Print, with his daughter, when he was 65.  He also enjoyed his free time over the years traveling, camping with family, flying his plane, building things and studying the bible.  His mission of the past couple of years was leading people to the lord.  He didn’t want anybody left behind.

He is predeceased by his wife, his parents Roy Dee Mackey and Orpha Elizabeth (Harris), sister Loleta Elizabeth, his son William Larew Mackey and his granddog Kitkat, who taught him to say woof, woof.

He leaves his two daughters, Erin Lynn Rader (Randall Leslie Rader), Elizabeth Ann Murray (Brian Dean Murray).

His grandchildren Tristan William Rader (Caitlyn Wittingham Rader), Peter Leslie Rader, Cheyenne Grey Mackey and great granddaughter Gwendolyn Leslie Rader as well as many other caring relatives and friends.

He loved his church, Emmanuel Christian Assembly, and the fellowship he enjoyed there brought much meaning to his life.

Jimmie’s Calling Hours will be held from 3 to 5 pm on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Emmanuel Christian Assembly, 925 W. Hopocan Ave., Barberton. Funeral Service to follow at 5:00 pm.
