John Paul Burke, 68 of Akron, went home to be with the Lord peacefully with his family by his side on December 5, 2022. John was born on October 25, 1954 to Elmer Sr. and Adeline Burke. John grew up in Norton, Ohio in a large family of nine siblings. He came from a family of old fashioned values where family came first, you showed up for Sunday dinners and holidays were always special. He attended Norton High school and was a member of Victory Chapel Church in Akron. John made a lifetime career of truck driving.
John is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Vincent Burke and James Burke and sisters Shirley Blankenship and Emily Burke, nephews Joey Blankenship and Joe (Junior) Blankenship, great niece Morgan Hall, great nephew Lucious Fletcher and nephew-in-law Aaron Propst. He is survived by his brother Jerry Burke, sisters Patricia (Kevin) Murphy, Margaret Burke, and Mary (Don) Fletcher and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
John had a unique sense of humor and a contagious, boisterous laugh. He underwent a lot of medical issues over the last few years, but he kept a positive spirit and still aimed to make people smile. He will be greatly missed.

John’s Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Victory Chapel, 32 W. Bellisle St., Akron on Saturday, December 17, 2022. Pastor Robert Webb officiating. Visitation will be One Hour Prior to the service at the church . A memorial dinner will be after the service.
