John Joseph Hurst

BARBERTON---John Joseph Hurst, age 52, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Barberton.  John was born on July 1, 1964 in Barberton where he lived his whole life.  He was employed by Tri-C Fundraising where he worked for the last several years.  John was an avid reader; history buff, enthusiastic sports fan and he loved spending time with his nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Margaretta (Rita) Hurst and brother Jeffery Hurst.

He is survived by eight brothers and sisters JoAnn Matyasi, Frank Hurst, Jr. (Andy Berenyi), James Hurst, Jennifer (Christopher) Myers, Joel Hurst, Jill (Charles) Clark, Joyce Hurst (Desra Blamble), Jessica Hurst (Derrick McQueen); sister-in-law Karen (Lee) Hurst; uncles Jesse (Myra) Hurst and William Hurst; twenty-two nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

A time of visitation will be offered on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 10-11 A.M. followed by a funeral Mass at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Avenue, Norton. A private burial for the family will be held following the mass. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Axess Pointe Community Health Center, 390 E.
