John Daniel Maczko

BARBERTON - John Daniel Maczko , "Maz",64, passed away unexpectedly on December 18, 2015 at Akron City Hospital. Danny was born in Barberton and had been an area resident all his life where he graduated from Barberton High School in 1969. He worked at General Tire for 10 years and was currently the owner of Dan Maczko Roofing for the past 34 years. He was a member of Allenside Athletic Club, Barberton Civitan Club, Hungarian Club and Turkeyfoot Sportsman Club. Maz was an avid hunter and fisherman and coached little league in Barberton for many years. Danny also had a love and passion for sports. Preceded in death by his parents John and Magdelene; Maz is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Diane E.; sons Gregory (Dawna) and Christopher; grandchildren Steven, Jacob, Averie and Hunter; sister Laura Maczko; brothers Carl (Stacy) and Bruce; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family wishes to thank the cardiologists and nurses at Akron City Hospital and the Barberton Paramedics. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Calling Hours Tuesday from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Heart Assoc.
