BARBERTON---John E. Pokopac, 88, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2011 at his residence. John was born in Barberton where he was a life resident and retired from the I.A. Barnett Co. after 33 years of service. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Norton and the Barberton Moose Lodge 759. John was also a proud Army Veteran having served during WWII. Preceded in death by his son Michael; and parents Michael and Anna; Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Martha; daughter Cathy Pokopac of Barberton; son Eugene (Connie) of Georgia; granddaughter Michelle Pokopac; brother Art Sr. (Clara) of Barberton; and specials friends Janet Harper and Van Cheatham. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Rev. Charles Ryba celebrant. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where prayers will be said Thursday morning at 10:30 A.M.
