Joseph R. Patterson Jr.

Joseph R. Patterson Jr., 79, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at his residence.

Joe was born in Barberton and was an area resident all his life where he worked at Babcock and Wilcox and Plastipak. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and proud Navy Veteran. Joe enjoyed working in his yard and garden and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.

Preceded in death by his wife Patricia; and son Michael; He is survived by his son Joseph R. III (Michele); daughters Traci (Dan) Cottrill and Kelly (David) Eby; grandchildren Tia Patterson, Joseph Patterson IV, Amber Murray, Kelsey Weidrick, Colin Cottrill, Jessica Eby and Alexandra Eby; and great-grandchildren Brenna, Blake, Jace, Lucas, Miles, Matthew, Delilah and “baby” Cottrill.

Joseph’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204-Sixth St. NW., Barberton. Burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held on Thursday morning at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
