Joy A. (Greathouse) Clegg

Joy A. Clegg, 82, passed away April 1, 2023.

Joy was born in Barberton and had been an area resident all of her life. She loved being in the woods digging for herbs and roots and was an avid mushroom hunter. Joy loved quilting and made dolls to donate for the woman’s shelter. She enjoyed being on the farm, raising chickens and pigs. She was also an active member of Sunbury Church and gave to many charitable organizations.

Preceded in death by her parents Walter and Lissie Greathouse; son Michael; granddaughter Cristina Coon; sister Emma Jean Greathouse; and brothers Arthur and Holt Greathouse. Joy is survived by her husband William L.; sons John David (Joyce) Greathouse and William Clegg II; daughters Tonia (Frank) Cruz; Tammie (Bill) Young and Vonda (Butch) Clegg; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brothers Roy “Joker” Greathouse and Carl Greathouse; and sisters Eloise Stout, Barbara McGuire and Willadean Vorsek.

Joy’s Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023 at Victory Chapel. Rev. Robert Webb officiating. A luncheon will follow at the church.
