Joyce A. (Bidinger) Baker

Joyce Ann Baker, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home on December 5, 2024.  She was the daughter of Edward and Dorothy (Yarman) Bidinger where she was born and raised on the farm in Doylestown, Ohio.  She attended Sts. Peter & Paul Elementary School and graduated from Doylestown Chippewa High, class of 1956.  She was active in sports, the band and was a cheerleader. Upon graduation, she was employed by PPG Industries where she met her husband of 60+ years, Ken Baker.

She cherished her role as Grandma, finding immense happiness in watching her grandchildren grow.  Many trips were made to Florida to enjoy and spoil her grandsons although she didn’t have to travel so far to enjoy her Ohio grandkids.  Thanks to Dean, Dylan, Caiden and Kinsley for the wonderful times.  Joyce also enjoyed the get togethers with the PPG girls, her domino buddies and breakfast with her “56” classmates and especially the card club friends of 55 plus years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Joan (Gordon) Hartney, sister Ruth (Don) Kraemer and brother Dean (Daisy) Bidinger.  Survived by her husband Ken, daughters Jill (Bill) Drafts with their two sons Dean and Dylan of Longwood, Florida and Barbara (Mike) Shockey with their children Alexis, Caiden and Kinsley of Norton, Ohio along with many special nieces and nephews and their spouses.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on December 17, 2024, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 4022 Johnson Rd, Norton, OH where she was an active member of the parish.  Inurnment at Greenlawn Memorial Park will follow the mass.  There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church.
