Judith Ann Sherman

Judith Ann Sherman, 73, went to her eternal rest with our Lord Jesus Christ on August 6, 2010. Born in Akron she had been an area resident all her life where she graduated from Coventry High School in 1955 and studied at Ohio State University and the University of Akron. Judy worked for the University of Akron's Center for Urban Studies for 20 plus years. She was an avid reader, creative writer and enjoyed traveling, gardening and crafts. Judy was married to her husband Ted for 53 years. She has five children, Lisa Popa, Susan Melvin, Ted Sherman, Michael Sherman and Andy Sherman. Five grandchildren, Robert, Andrea and Jackie Gill and Jacob and Rachel Popa. She was also a proud great-grandma to Isabel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2010, 10 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
