Kathleen J. (Grochowsky) Foley

Kathleen J. Foley (nee Grochowsky), 70, passed away June 22, 2024 with her family by her side. Kathy was born in Barberton on September 11th, 1953. She was a 1972 graduate of Barberton High School. She met the love of her life, Kevin, shortly after graduation and they were married on September 10th, 1977. She resided in Barberton her whole life. Kathy worked in the Barberton City School District for 28 years, with 17 of those spent in the BHS Athletic Department. In 2014, she was inducted into the Barberton Sports Hall of Fame. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother (“Poppy”). She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. They were the light of her life.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Marcel and Kathryn (Vass) Grochowsky. She leaves behind her loving husband of 46 years, Kevin; son Brian; daughter Lindsay (Steve) Motil; grandchildren Landon, Molly and Drew Motil; and her dog, Brody.

Kathy will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring doctors and nurses in the ICU at Barberton Summa for the exceptional care provided during this time. Per Kathy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
