Kathryn Ann Fassnacht, 68, passed away February 12, 2012, with God opening his arms to her in the presence of her husband, daughter and family sparing her more physical suffering. Born in Barberton to Edna and Robert V. Weaver where she had been a life resident graduating from Barberton High School Class of '61. Kay traveled a lot, her first trip was by train to visit her father in California in 1944 where he was serving as a medical assistant in a base hospital during WWII. Her family traveled to Florida, even before Disney, with yearly excursions East and West to visit relatives. During her 68 years, she had many jobs: Delivering the Barberton Post and Beacon Journal, snack bar at Charger Lanes, and teacher's aide and librarian at both Barberton and Akron Public Schools. She retired from Infocision Management Corporation in December 2011 and immediately was disabled by Pulmonary Fibrosis. Preceded in death by mother Edna and grandparents Kathryn and Harold Bates. Kay leaves behind her loving husband of 30 years Jerry. Her proudest achievements were her children and grandchildren; son Shaun (Mary) Spencer of Burlington, KY and daughter Denise (Joel) Hauenstein of Granville, OH; grandchildren Joshua and Justin Spencer and Bryson and Gryffin Hauenstein. She also leaves her father Robert V. Weaver of Barberton; sisters Vicki (Eamon) Weaver-Flynn of New Hampshire and Virginia (Richard) Karson of New York; niece Sarah Flynn; nephew Robert Karson; as well as many friends and co-workers. Our thanks to the RN's in the ICU at Summa Barberton Hospital who helped us during our crisis and to Dr. Husain.
