Kathryn M. Mizin

BARBERTON---Kathryn M. Mizin, 79, passed away August 14, 2014.

Kathryn was born in Barberton where she was a life resident. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and was active in the Holy Hour Program and Women of Faith.

Preceded in death by her first husband Ralph Murphy; second husband Thomas C. Mizin; and parents Raymond and Ruth McKnight; survivors include her daughters, Sr. Constance Murphy, SSJ (Sisters of St. Joseph) of Philadelphia, Mary A. (John) Paugh of Barberton and Kathryn R. (Richard) Kanis of Akron; grandchildren Tiffany Evans (Chuck), Kelli Paugh (Ian) and Brooks Kanis (Courtnae); great-grandchildren Xavier Kanis and Hunter and Nina Evans; and niece Robyn Williams.


Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204-6th St. NW, Barberton. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Calling Hours Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where prayers will be said Thursday morning at 9:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Philadelphia, Mount St. Joseph Covent, 9701 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19118-2694.
