Barberton- Kurt A. Kurilko, 57 passed away March 10, 2012 at Summa Akron City Hospital after a lengthy illness. Kurt was born in Franklin, PA. to Mary and Albert Kurilko. Preceded in death by mother, Mary and grandparents Michael and Mary Kurilko, and William and Mary Coupe.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years Pamela S. (Riffle) Kurilko, parents Carole and Albert Kurilko, bothers Robert Kurilko, Todd Kurilko, and Travis Kurilko; sisters Karen Myhall and Stacey Sporup, and many nieces and nephews.
He was a 1973 graduate of Barberton High School and 1979 Control Data Institute Computer Technology. Kurt had worked for Total Technical Services in North Royalton as a computer hardware technician, then later as an electronic instructor for United Electronics in Cuyahoga Falls later as a director for National Institute of Technology in Maple Heights, Ohio. He loved teaching adults helping them succeed in a new career and writing curriculum.
His hobbies were raising Rottweilers and Bull Terriers, fishing, enjoying a 1967 Corvette, playing darts in the Akron Canton Dart Club, Doctor Who, stamp collecting, and Bible studies.
Kurt became Master Mason Olmsted Falls Lodge 705 December 1989, Valley of Cleveland Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite November 1990 and was admitted to the Tadmor Temple June 1991 but due to poor health was unable to continue.
Calling Hours Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 5-8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Memorial Services and interment will be at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Windsor House - Doylestown Health Care Center, Community Care, nurses at FMC in Green, and the Palliative Care Unit at Akron City for their compassionate care of Kurt.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made American Red Cross Blood Services, Haven of Rest, Akron Food Bank, or Shriners Hospital for Children - Cincinnati.
