BARBERTON---Louise E. Pasternak (nee Klein), 83, passed away December 16, 2015 after a short illness. Louise was born in Randolph, OH and had been a Barberton resident most of her life where she worked for the Barberton City Schools in the cafeteria. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and was a member of the former SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church where she was active in St. Anne's Society. Louise was a volunteer for many years for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile, helped with the Barberton Band Boosters and was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokol Wreath #103. Preceded in death by her parents Robert and Agnes Klein; brother Gene; and sister Ruth Woolf ; She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Joseph V.; children Michael J. (Julie) of Akron, Janice A. (Joe) Karaffa of Wadsworth, Joseph A. (Victoria) of Wadsworth; Carol L. (Bob) Macko of Barberton and Thomas R. (girlfriend Shannon Leslie) of Barberton; 14 grandchildren; sisters Rose (Dave) Horning of Brimfield and Edith Lowden of Suffield; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Fr. Robert Jackson celebrant. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Friday from 4-8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd., West, Barberton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Louise's name to the Charity of One's Choice.
