Lucy was born April 2, 1924 to George and Hildred Buckhold in Cleveland OH. She graduated from St. Stephen High School in Cleveland OH in 1942. Hers was the first ever 4-year high school class at the school afterreceiving recognition by the State Department of Education.

Lucy married Joseph A Daffner in 1945 and together they raised three sons and a daughter in Macedonia, OH.

Lucy retired as the children’s librarian at the Twinsburg Public Library after many years of service.

In 1986 Lucy and her husband moved to Hudson, OH where she was a long time and active member of St Mary’s Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Lucy’s legacy is one of family, love and generosity. She was always ready with a listening ear and wise words, making a lasting impact on those around her. At the occasion of her 100th birthday celebration she attributed her long life to her passion to pray for others rather than herself.
