Lynne Irene Whorley

Lynne Irene Whorley, 69, passed away March 23, 2017 at the Hospice Care Center.  Lynne was a lifelong Akron area resident, grew up in Tallmadge and graduated from Tallmadge High School class of 1965. She also attended the University of Akron. Lynne was a 41year employee at Bober Markey Fedorovich, CPA firm. She had a strong and dedicated work ethic as well as a sense of humor and a dry wit to match which she maintained throughout her courageous battle against cancer these last 4½ months. Lynne greatly appreciated the numerous visits and support from her loyal work family. Dale and Mary for their many visits. Tara, her early morning breakfast partner; Stefanie and Cindy for their after work stop bys, as well as other co-workers from BMF. The family wishes to especially thank Dr. Scantling and the staff and many volunteers from Cleveland Clinic Akron General Visiting Nurse Hospice Care Center for their superior and dedicated care to keep Lynne comfortable during this difficult time. Preceded in death her parents Gordon E. and Alice M. Whorley; she is survived by her sister Johanna Sue (Larry) Edwards of Norton; nephew Blake (Michelle) Edwards of Cincinnati; nieces Heather (Mark) Krizovski of La Vista, Nebraska; great nieces Kaitlynn  and Alexis of Cincinnati and Lana Grace of Nebraska; great-nephew Blaine Prentice of Nebraska; cousins Karen (David) Ludwich, Katherine Mary (Joe) Dobbertin and Roianne Holland Liska all of Cuyahoga Falls; lifelong friend Janice (Rich) Quarles along with Missy and Chad. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 2-4 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VNS Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, 44333 or the Akron Canton Food Bank.
