M. Narita (Arnold, Gross) Linn

November 3, 1930 — December 11, 2016

NORTON---M. Narita Linn (Arnold, Gross) passed away December 11, 2016 after a courageous battle with Alzheimers.   She was born in 1930 to Edgar and Hazel (Collette) Arnold. Narita attended Saint Mary’s grade school and high school, where she met her life-long best friends.  Their monthly club gatherings were special times of playing cards, sharing family news and cherishing “girl time” together.  They continued to get together for over 70 years and as recently as October.  They were sisters. In 1949, Narita married Jack H. Gross and they were blessed with five children.  Jack passed away in 1962 and Narita was faced with the daunting task of raising five children alone.  She met this challenge with strength, love and perseverance. In 1967, God smiled on Narita again when she married Richard Linn and a 49 plus year love story began.  Two more children joined the family.  Narita was an avid seamstress, a master puzzle-maker and a life-long Cleveland Indians fan.  She always enjoyed a good card game and trips to the casino.  She loved to crochet, blessing many people with her beautiful afghans over the years.  Narita enjoyed her weekly bowling leagues and camping at Loyal Oak Lake Park for 38 years.  She loved to travel, having visited 46 of the 48 continental states. Narita lived a life full of love and devotion to God, her family and her friends.  She will be greatly missed by many.  She joins in heaven her parents, her first husband Jack, her sister Lois Abell, and her brothers-in-law Jim Abell and Tony Alexander.  She is survived by her cherished husband Dick, her children Barb (Link) Rickenbacker, John Gross, Pat (Paul) Cipar, Jim (Robin) Gross, Linda (Tim) Haney, Mary and Rick, 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, her sister Dorothy Alexander, her Club friends Margie Sabo, Martha Sarlouis and Norma Lesho and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The family is grateful to Kathy Linn, Judy Soltis and the wonderful staffs of Summa Hospice Care and Home Instead for their loving care of mom and the family during these past months. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Rev. Robert Jackson celebrant.
