Margaret "Peggy" Tallant, 87, passed away on April 10, 2025. Born in Massillon, OH, raised in Jackson, she lived most of her life on a small farm in Richfield, OH raising sheep with her husband Harry of 53 years. She was a member of the Richfield United Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harry and brother Howard "Bud" Haynes. She will be deeply missed by her children, Thomas (Lisa) and Melissa Tallant; grandson, Lucas; sister Barbara (Haynes) Guess and many nieces and nephews.
Peggy graduated from Jackson High School in 1955, where she was a member of several school bands and other clubs. She was married in 1961 and moved to Richfield. She enjoyed working as an accountant before retirement, including in the Cavs office at the Richfield Coliseum. She was very involved in her community, volunteering at the church as a Sunday school teacher and in the office among other positions. She was a piano teacher to many students. She delivered Meals On Wheels for years as well as serving meals at Feed My Sheep in Akron. She kept in touch with many friends from high school and former jobs and looked forward to their monthly meetings. A lifelong Cleveland sports fan, she rarely missed a Browns, Cavs, or Indians/Guardians game, even until to the end of her life.
Peggy's Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on April 26 at Richfield United Church of Christ, 4340 W Streetsboro Rd, Richfield, OH 44286. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Richfield United Church of Christ for the Feed My Sheep program (https://richfielducc.org).
