BARBERTON---Marguerite A. Trenjan, 89, passed away December 14, 2013 at Summa Barberton Hospital.
Marguerite was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, attended St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, and recently loved attending the weekly masses at her new home, Pleasant Pointe Assisted Living in Barberton. She was a member of the Altar Society and Rosary Societies at St. Nicholas and loved working for their catering teams and helping the ladies bake nut rolls and poppy seed rolls.
Most of her seven great-grandchildren are old enough to appreciate her boundless devotion to them. They were always the recipients of at least a dollar or two in their birthday cards - and she NEVER forgot a birthday.
The Cleveland Indians, Browns, Cavaliers and Ohio State Buckeyes have lost one faithful fan; Marguerite was glued to her TV for sports!! We will miss her whiskey cookies, chicken paprikash, her passion for feeding wild birds, her love of her Croatian heritage, her great stories of Barberton where she has lived since birth, her appearance on You Tube at the age of 88 leading the family in the Harlem Shake, and her curly toes. What a woman!!
Preceded in death by her husband Steve; sisters Ann Kimball and Catherine Novak; and brother John Spehar; Survivors include her daughter Kathy (Dave) Zupko of Barberton; son Steve Trenjan of Akron; grandchildren Jennifer (Bryan) Nemet, Erica ((Kwang) Kim, David (Jessica) Zupko and Mary (Russell) Stouffer; great-grandchildren Andrew Dodd, Bailey and Aidan Nemet, David Zupko III, Ella Kim and Grayson and Leah Stouffer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marguerite's family wish to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Pleasant Pointe Assisted Living, who made the last two months of her life a whole lot of fun!! She genuinely loved each and every one of you.
