Marilyn Sue Mattes

BARBERTON---Marilyn S. Mattes (nee Smith), 59, passed away October 2, 2015 at the Hospice Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer.


Marilyn was born in Barberton where she has been an area resident all her life. She worked at Primo's Deli for over 20 years as a server and was a member of Barberton Church of God. Marilyn loved her music and her family.


Preceded in death by her father Richard; sister Nancy Parker; and brother Bobby Smith; Survivors include her husband Frank J. IV; son Jesse of Barberton; mother Donna Smith; sister Linda Morris; brothers Jeff (Gay) Smith, Donald (Missy) Smith and William Smith. She also leaves her Primo's family and a host of other loving family and friends.


Calling Hours will be held from 5-8 P.M. on Monday, October 5, 2015 at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, 11:00 A.M. at the Barberton Church of God, 885 N. Summit St., Barberton. Pastor Chuck Erbe officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help defray costs.
