Marjorie A. (Tennent) Ashbrook

Marjorie A. Ashbrook, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 23, 2024.

Marjorie was born in Akron and had been an area resident all her life. She retired as a Registered Nurse, working for Barberton Citizens Hospital, Summa Akron City and Nurses House Calls. Marjorie was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and volunteered for the American Cancer Society and was a Poll worker for years. She enjoyed gardening, making jewelry and crafts and cooking (making noodles and dumplings were her specialty). Most importantly, being with her family meant everything to her.

Preceded in death by her parents Walter and Caroline; and brother Walter W.; She is survived by her children, Margie Klein, Jack (Monica) Ashbrook, Ted (Lori) Ashbrook, Nancy (Tim) Lynn and Cindy (Pete) Alexander; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; sister Dorothy Ryan; and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses of Southern Care Hospice for their compassion and care of Marjorie.

Marjorie’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
