Martin (Marty) J. Costanzo passed away Tuesday May 7, 2024, unexpectedly at age 61.
Marty was born September 4, 1962, to Charles Costanzo Jr. and Helen E. Costanzo in Akron Ohio where he lived out most of his rambunctious childhood with older siblings Martina Costanzo, Chuck Costanzo and Marita Mudd.
Marty had three children, Nikole, Dakota and Colton and six grandchildren that were his entire world. He loved going to basketball, baseball, softball and football games of Aubrey and Robert. He called weekly to set up play dates with his little buddies Everett, Marshall, Avery and Casen, where he never showed up empty handed. If it wasn’t a loud toy with lots of pieces, it was donuts or candy. They absolutely adored him as did everyone else.
Marty lived for his family, love of music, In-n-Out Burger t-shirts and anything involving the ocean. Marty had some of his best memories living in California with some of his friends right after high school where he skateboarded and surfed without a care in the world. His dream was to retire and live in a hut on the beach.
Marty is survived by former wife and lifelong friend Tara Costanzo (Marcum). Children; Nikole (Bo) Kennedy, Dakota (Cody) Rice, Colton (Emily) Costanzo. Grandchildren; Aubrey, Robert, Everett, Avery, Marshall, Casen and unborn baby Rice. Siblings; sister Martina Costanzo, brother Chuck (Diana) Costanzo and sister Marita Mudd and numerous loved nieces and nephews.
Marty is preceeded in death by his loving parents Charles Costanzo Jr. and Helen E. Costanzo.
While Marty left us way too soon, he will be remembered for his fun-loving personality and being everyone’s best friend. To know him was to love him and laugh with him. He will be forever missed by all.
Marty's Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at the Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marty's name may be made to City of Barberton Parks and Rec. Dept-Skate Park.
