Mary Louise (Lough) Reed

Mary Louise Reed, 96, passed away peacefully in her sleep to be with the Lord January 1, 2022 at her nieces home, Debra Wise in Akron, Ohio.  She was born August 23, 1925 in Camden, WV to the late Letha and James Mack Lough.

Over the years “Lou” and “Bill” enjoyed traveling, especially with the church groups.  Mary really enjoyed her home and family and her flower gardens.  She enjoyed bingo and socializing with her friends, making quilts, attending quilt shows, and crocheting.  She also was a great cook and created some delicious meals for her family.

Preceded in death by her husband Willard L. Reed; brother “Bud” Lough, and grandson and wife Kenneth and Lisa Mathes.  She is survived by her son and daughter in law Ralph and Clara Mathes; grandson and wife Thomas and Sandy Mathes; granddaughter Susan Browning; great-grandchildren Wendy and Shawn Smith, Kurtis Mathes and Kayla Mathes; great-great grandchildren James, Layla and Mathew Smith and Addy Mathes; sisters Lois Cole and JoAnn Johnson of Akron and Ann Johnson of Virginia; brother Franklin Lough of Akron; and also, many nieces and nephews.

Many thanks to the Southern Care Hospice group that has helped to take care of Mary over the last year.

Calling Hours for Mary will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton.
