Mary H. (Soltesz) Szittai

NORTON---On Sunday morning July 10th Mary Szittai, 102, went home to be with her Lord and Savior.  Mary was born in Passaic, New Jersey to John and Emma Soltesz.  She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Helen Markus, brother John, husband of 56 years Joseph, son Joseph, son in law John Engy and granddaughters Kathy Burd (Bill) and Julie Engy. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Engy and daughter in law Ann Szittai; grandchildren Richard (Ann) Szittai, Shelly (Dan) Mealey, John (Cindy) Szittai, Tim Szittai, Teresa (Richard) Shaw, Rebecca Engy and Christine Izo.  She also leaves 17 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mary retired from the B & W Co. in 1978 with 22 years of service.  She was a member of Holy Trinity and Prince of Peace Churches.  Her life was filled to the fullest with vacations and gatherings with the family she loved so much.  Mary volunteered at the Barberton soup kitchen and enjoyed her monthly luncheons with the widows group at Grace Church.
Our deepest gratitude to her Prince of Peace family and to the compassionate and gentle care she received from the staff at the Hospice Care Center on Ridgewood Rd.
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 10 – 11 A.M. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. Fr. Robert Jackson, celebrant.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Prince of Peace Church or the Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, 44333.
