BARBERTON---Mary V. Wenner, 97, passed away December 6, 2016. Mary was born in Barberton where she graduated in 1937. She and her husband built Wenner’s Market in 1957. Knowing they couldn’t compete with the newly built Acme in 1962, they changed the store into a tavern. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church where she was active in the Holy Hour Program. Also she was a member of S.N.P.J., the Barberton Moose, the Euchre group at St. Francis and the Moose Alumni Luncheon Group. Mary was a “Rosie the Riveter” during WWII and loved working in her yard. Preceded in death by her husband Elmer C; survivors include her brothers James J. (Bonnie) Csaszar and Joseph Csaszar; sister Geraldine McClain; special nephew Marty Darr; special friend Monica Hagan; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, December 9, 2016 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204-6th St. NW, Barberton. Interment at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Calling Hours Friday from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church.
