Mary Zodnik (nee Valencheck)


BARBERTON---Mary Zodnik, 96, passed away September 9, 2010 at Pleasant View Health Care Center. Born in Leckrone, PA she had been a resident of the Barberton, Cleveland and Richfield areas. Mary was employed by Leece Neville in Cleveland for 30 years, was a volunteer for the Magical Theater in Barberton and was a 70 year member of SNPJ Lodge 626. Those who knew Mary will remember her as a very loving, caring, generous and humble person.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank Sr.; parents Anton and Mary; sisters Antonia Brncik and Olga Valencheck and brothers William and Stanley Valencheck; she was a dear mother to Frank Jr. (Lucy); adoring grandmother to Frank (Laura) Dayton, Mary Zodnik, Sandra Zodnik and Karen (Will) Cheshier; great-grandmother to Wendy (Jon) King, Jessi (Chris) Matthews, and Thomas and Jonathan Cheshier; great-great-grandmother to three; sister to Nell Baltic and sister-in-law to Polly Valencheck; much loved aunt, great aunt and friend to many.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Pleasant View Health Care Center, 401 Snyder Ave., Barberton, OH 44203, where Mary received outstanding care in the final years of her life.

Inurnment will take place on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, 11:00 A.M. at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
