Maryanne (Gerbetz) Osolin

Maryanne Osolin (nee Gerbetz), 89, passed away August 13, 2024.

Maryanne was born in Barberton and was an area resident all her life. She retired from the Akron Public Schools as an Aide after 20 years of service. Maryanne was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, the Domovina Lodge, LCBA, was an avid card player and also an usher at Ohio State Football games. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and Women of the Moose and volunteered at the Interval Brotherhood for over 20 years.

Preceded in death by her husband Donald; and son-in-law Dean Nelson; she is survived by her sons John (June), Mark (Ellen) and Donald; daughters Vicki (Terry) Grimes, Teresa (Ken) Wentz, Paula (James) Trenta, Betsy (Larry) Wymer and Mimi Nelson; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Maryanne’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prince of Peace Church.
