Michael J. Ketterer, Jr

d. August 25, 2012

BARBERTON---Michael J. Ketterer, Jr., 70, passed away on August 25th, 2012 due to complications from a stroke. Mike was born in Yugoslavia and he came to this country with his parents and brother, John, as a young boy. Anyone who met Mike was surprised to learn he wasn't born here because he didn't have any trace of an accent. It was his strong will and determination that helped him adapt to a new home here in Barberton, Ohio and it was this same level of determination that helped him to be with us as long as he did as he fought hard to try and recover from his stroke. He worked for 20 years for McNeil as an office manager. He also worked weekends with his wife, Judie. Together, they owned and operated Michaels Photography for 33 years and he touched many lives with his photography skills while getting to spend as much time as possible with his wife. His family was very important to him and he celebrated the joys of both of his children and his granddaughter. He also enjoyed spending time with his many friends like his McDonald's coffee buddies and those from the Hungarian Club. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Kathryn. He is survived by his wife of 47 A½ years, Judie; his daughter Lisa (Brandon) Reedy; son David (Melissa) and their daughter, Samantha; and his brother, John. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Fr. Robert Jackson celebrant. Private Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where prayers will be said Wednesday morning at 10:30 A.M.
