Michael V. Vargo

BARBERTON---Michael V. Vargo, 85, passed away March 8, 2012 at Centerburg Pointe Nursing Home in Centerburg, OH. Born in Barberton, he had been an area resident all of his life where he retired from the East Ohio Gas Company in 1987 after 35 years of service. Michael was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church and a proud United States Army veteran, having served during WWII.

He was preceded in death by wife Mary Irene; sisters Leona Bragg, Pauline Phoenix, and Malina Sothen and brothers Jack and John Jr.; Survivors include son Michael P. (Karen) of Mt. Vernon, OH; daughter Linda Vargo of Barberton; special friend Phyllis Pander; grandchildren LeighAnn, Kristy and Dominic and sister-in-law Kay Vargo.


Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2012, 11 A.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, Fr. Miron Kurel-kmec officiating. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery.
