Mike Firtha

BARBERTON---Mike Firtha, 88, passed away October 17, 2021.

Mike was born in Barberton and had been an area resident all his life where he retired from the Peter J. Schmitt Co. and also had Mike Firtha Trucking. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Randolph, loved his fruit, vegetable and flower gardens and enjoyed sharing them with his family and friends and also working in the yard.

Preceded in death by his son Joseph; and sister Millie Scavone; He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Nancy A.; son Michael (Janice); daughter Diane (Joseph) Esola; daughter-in-law Deb Firtha; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2643 Waterloo Rd., Mogadore. Fr. Zachary Coulter, celebrant. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling Hours Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton and also on Thursday ONE HOUR PRIOR to the Funeral Mass AT THE CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
