Monica R. (Thesing) Krause

May 7, 1932 — December 13, 2020

Canal Fulton

Monica R. Krause passed away suddenly on December 13, 2020 at her home. Monica will forever be “29”.

She was born in Barberton, Ohio to Joseph and Zita Thesing. Her family had a rich history in Barberton with her grandparents owning the Meehan Bottling Company. Monica was a majorette at St. Mary’s High School. She crocheted more that 120 baby blankets for the newly baptized infants at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, where she was a lifelong member. There was nothing more important to Monica than her family. Anyone who knew her well enough knew she never complained and always looked at her life with the glass half full, never empty. She was proud to be the wife of Deacon Harold Krause.

Monica was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Zita Thesing, and her husband of 68 years, Deacon Harold Krause. She is survived by children Diane (Doug) Wofsey, Harold (Melanie) Kasten-Krause, Annette (Mark) Werner, Patrice (Frank) Lombardi. Her grandchildren Jason (Melinda) Schalmo, Monica (Jason) Meeks, Andrea Werner, Andrew (Heather) Werner, Tristan Kasten-Krause, Jordan Kasten-Krause, Dr. Audrianna Lombardi. Her great grandchildren Tre’ Schalmo, Ian Schalmo, Lily Schalmo, Hannah Meeks, Ella Meeks, Ava Werner, Amelia Werner. There was nothing that brought more joy to her life than all of them. There was nothing she would not do for any one of them and they felt the same about her. She will be missed more than she will ever know.

A Private Mass of Christian Burial was held for the family at St. Augustine Catholic Church, followed by burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Augustine Endowment Trust Fund. To share a memory or send a condolence, please visit www.silva-hostetler.com (330-825-8700)
