BARBERTON---Nicola Cornacchione 89, passed away July 26, 2015 at Arbors at Fairlawn. Born December 24, 1925 in Fossalto, Italy, he immigrated to the United States in 1956. He was a resident of the Barberton - Fairlawn area for 60 years. He worked for General Tire & Rubber Company for over 20 years and ran his own cement contracting business for over ten years. He was a long standing member of the United Fossaltese Club. He was a strong man of faith serving the Church through Serra International, being an active member of the parishes of St. Augustine, St. Sebastian and St. Hilary, attending daily mass, and being a member of several prayer groups. He was preceded in death by parents Emilio and Nicoletta Cornacchione; brother and sister-in-law Teodoro (Giuseppina) Cornacchione; sister Antonietta Cornacchione; brother-in-law Giuseppe Cornacchione; daughter Helen Cornacchione, her mother Catherine Cornacchione; son-in-law Dave Barnes; and grandson Samuel Ott. He is survived by his daughters: Mary Barnes and Kathy (David) Ott; grandchildren: Lauren and Lynn Barnes; and Nathan, Benjamin, Jonathan, and Daniel Ott; brothers: Francesco (Carmelina) Cornacchione, Liberato (Concetta) Cornacchione, Guido (Vincenza) Cornacchione, Domenico (Theresa) Cornacchione; sisters: Mariannina Cornacchione, and Palma (Mario) Cornacchione; brother-in-law Bertino Samori; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Summa Hospice and Arbors at Fairlawn for their gentle care. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, August 3, 2015 at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 West Market St., Fairlawn. Fr. Steve Breck celebrant. Private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
