Patricia C. (Zoker) Rittenhour

Patricia C. (Zoker) Rittenhour passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025.  She was born and resided in Barberton her entire life.  She graduated from Our Lady of the Elms.  She was a faithful and devout Catholic her entire life attending Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Ron Rittenhour, her parents Matthew and Lucy Zoker, and daughter-in-law MaryBeth.  She is survived by her sons Mark (Jennifer) of Port Charlotte, FL. , Matthew (Wendy) of Memphis, TN., and Michael of Barberton; grandchildren Andy (Jessica), Kevin (Rachel), Lauren, Morgan (fiancée Dwight), and Nathan; great granddaughter Mia MaryBeth; sister Barbara (Larry) Lauter of Barberton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law James (Debbie) of Vermont; and several nieces and nephews. Patricia’s greatest joy was raising her family.  She had a quick wit and made her feelings known through her words and facial expressions, and later in life by pointing and shaking her walking cane. She loved shopping and took pride in her appearance, and earned the nickname “Pretty Patty” from the staff at Pleasant View Nursing home.  She enjoyed flowers and looked forward to planting her red geraniums each spring. She loved taking long car rides on country roads and stopping for ice cream. She cherished her relationship with her sister Barbara who provided unconditional love and support during their many talks throughout each day. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, June 2, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton, Fr. Robert Jackson celebrant. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace. Interment will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in a private family ceremony at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Barberton Area Community Ministries, (B.A.C.M.) 939 Norton Ave., Barberton, OH 44203.
