Paul E. Cipar

NORTON---Paul Eugene Cipar, 84, passed away on May 8th after a battle with Parkinson’s, Dementia and a broken heart after losing Elaine (Cartmel) in November, 2011. They were married on December 26, 1953.

Born in Barberton, Paul was a lifelong area resident and a member of the former Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #1617, Holy Name Society as well as a Lector.  Paul is a current member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church.

Paul worked for Summit Electric in Akron for 34 yrs., and then finished his career at Paramont Machine Company, retiring in 1999 he also served in the 45th Infantry Division of the Army during the Korean War.

Preceded in death by Elaine Mae (Cartmel), his wife of 57 years, his parents Martin and Mary, son Lawrence Eugene and brother Martin.  Paul is survived by his sisters, Maryanna and Veronica, brother, Stanley (Sue), children Kathleen (David) Thomas, Paul (Patricia), David (Dawn) , Edward (Amy) and Christine (Robert) Weigand, grandchildren, Michelle Cameron, Paul Cipar II, David II, Nathan (Sarah) and Ashley (James) Conner, Brian and Abigail Cipar, Jefferey and Nicholas Thomas, great-grandchildren, Emma, Grace, Evan and Jackson Cameron.

We would like to thank the Summa Care Hospice Team as well as the companionship and personal care provided to our father by Judy, Megan and Gayle.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 4022 Johnson Rd., Norton. Fr. James Maloney celebrant. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Wednesday from 4-7 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the “Martin and Mary Cipar Art Endowed Scholarship Fund” c/o Ursuline College, 2550 Lander Rd., Pepper Pike, OH 44124.
