BARBERTON---Paul E. Swaino Jr., 78, passed away July 4, 2015. Paul was born in Barberton where he was a life resident and graduated from Barberton High School in 1955. He served in the National Guard for 11 years. Paul worked at Babcock and Wilcox Co. for 31 years and also cut meat and made sausage at Al's Market in Barberton. He was an avid gardener, loved to vacation in Florida and did a little gambling. Paul was a lifetime member of St. Augustine Catholic Church where he was a head usher. Politics were also a part of his life as he was a former 4th Ward Councilman. Paul was also active in the Knights of Columbus Council 1617, Slovak Catholic Sokol 167, VFW 1066, Civitan Club and Liedertafel. Preceded in death by his parents Paul and Pauline; and grandson Aaron Swaino; Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Janice; daughter Debbie (Mark) Rohner; sons Paul III (Debbie) and Gordon (Sherri); grandchildren Chris, Craig, DeeAnna and Anthony; great- grandchildren Eli and Dunham; sister Betty (Andy) Somerick; and brother John (Sue). Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204-6th St. NW. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. with the Rosary at 7:30 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where prayers will be said Thursday at 12:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Augustine Church.
