BARBERTON---Ralph M. Scott, 63, passed away November 2, 2011 at Summa Barberton Hospital. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana he had been a Barberton resident most of his life where he retired from the Babcock & Wilcox Co. after 43 years of service. Ralph was a member of Hope United Methodist Church in Akron and Firestone VFW Post 3383. He also enjoyed entering his Blue 1993 Dodge Daytona Iroc R/T in car shows. Ralph was a proud Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. Preceded in death by his parents George and Mattie; Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Patricia M.; sons Chad and Mark; sisters Lucille (William) Moit and Carol (David) Lamb all of Indiana; step-mother Sue Scott; and three step-brothers and one step-sister. The family would like to thank Drs. Andrew Haas, James Brown and Lisa Brown and also the staff at Parkview Cancer Center. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011, 10:00 A.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Rev. Thomas Badanjek officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, where Firestone Post 3383 will conduct Military Honors. Calling Hours Friday from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
